Designing For Sale/Staging/Special Event Planning

Home Staging utilizes limited funds, practical creativity and professional experience to prepare your home for sale. A staged home has a “model home” feel making it more attractive to potential buyers. Staging your home will help sell it more quickly and for more money in today’s competitive housing market.

Special Event Planning reorganizes your home and coordinates extra furnishings and décor for holidays, parties and weddings held within the home. Outdoor living spaces can also be planned and styled to suit your event.

Universal Design

Universal design gives you a great home you can enjoy now, as well as support the way you live in the future. You could be short or tall, healthy or ill, young or old. You might have a disability, or a family member that does. With universal design, people who are very different can all enjoy the same home through all ages and stages of life.

FreeStyle

FreeStyle is a no-cost design idea where a designer helps de-clutter, organize and move furniture and accessories around in a room to give homeowners a dramatic new look. The concept is to make most of what you have, in addition to outlining ideas and purchases for the future.

Project Management

Whether it’s new construction or remodeling; making big changes to any area of your home can be stressful and expensive. A designer can help focus your ideas, avoiding costly mid-construction revisions. Doing it right is always cheaper than doing it over. Many decisions need to be made, someone to explain your choices and guide you along the timelines involved can make your project go much more smoothly.

Color Counseling

Color Correction deals with fixtures and furnishings that cannot be altered. This could be carpet or countertops. By adding other colors in areas that can be changed, such as paint and fabric, good color choices can balance or minimize problem areas.

Color Consultation covers all uses of color from floor to ceiling. Color can be used to make a room seem bigger, or smaller. It can bring two rooms together, or separate them. Certain colors have calming effects on people, while others are very stimulating. Color is one of the most personal choices in a home. Knowing which color to put where, how dark, light or shiny is a challenge for most; very often what you see on a paint chip is not what you get. Getting a master plan can make all the difference in getting the look you want.

Space Planning

Space planning incorporates both the function of the space as well as the human factor; it is more than dimensions and formulas. The right placement of your furnishings will be more functional and pleasing to the senses. Common space problems involve rooms that are too small, too big, or “L” shaped. Rooms often need to serve several purposes, a good designer can help make sense of the space you have.

Mediation

Mediation between two people who are combining households can be very helpful. His, hers and ours can be difficult to sort through. A designer can be the objective third party to make it all work together, or at least select the best items to keep with an eye toward creating one beautiful home.

Accessory and Art Selection

Art and accessories pull your space together. Selecting and arranging the finishing touches in your home make a good space great, but can be difficult to find. Sometimes they are a starting point for a room design; sometimes they are the finishing touches. While a good designer can help you select and place beautiful accessories, the secret is often to know when to stop as well as when to add.
